“You guys know, because we all go down such myths, it’s been the age-old question of who would win a fight between Black Adam and Superman. Pound for pound, they’re very close,” Johnson said. “I think it all probably depends on who plays Superman. I’ll just say that.”

“I’ll leave it at that,” Johnson added, raising an eyebrow. “We’ll just go with that.”

In the run-up to Saturday’s session, Comic-Con audiences had been hoping the WB “Man of Steel” star would pull off some Superman news, but the highly anticipated Saturday Morning panel focused only on next year’s “Shazam” sequel, “Shazam! Gods” and Johnson’s movie. October DC Anti-Heroes.

The latter also stars Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, and Quuntessa Swindell, all of whom joined forces with Johnson to tease the movie, which The Rock has been trying to make for more than a decade, at the Comic-Con scene. During the session, Johnson discussed what it means to finally review this film at Hall H.

“Being here today, watching Black Adam fly through the air and throw lightning like he’s passing candy, I gotta tell you guys, it really is a dream come true, so thank you so much for that and for the love and support,” Johnson told the crowd.

Johnson made a big scene to promote DC’s anti-hero movie, which follows a 5,000-year-old slave who is granted the powers of the gods. Having abused his powers, he was imprisoned by the gods who bestowed them on him.

Early Saturday, Johnson entered the epic Hall of H to begin the “Black Adam” panel.

Smoke filled the dark room exploding with resounding flashes of light to simulate lightning. Johnson then rose from the ground on a pedestal in his superhero costume as he hovered above the crowd with a flash of lightning flashing behind him.

He looked very solemn and the crowd burst into life.

It was a great moment – the highlight of the hour-long WB panel – that could have been made even more awesome if Henry Cavill had appeared from the ground right next to him right after him or appeared near the panel.

Promoting “Shazam 2” and “Black Adam” may be the smartest and safest option for Warner Bros. As her “The Flash” star, Ezra Miller, is now embroiled in controversy and the upcoming “Aquaman” sequel was in the news recently during the trial of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp.

At the end of the commission, Johnson told the Hall H crowd that everyone had been given a ticket allowing them to head to an IMAX showing of the film when it was released in October.

Black Adam hits theaters on October 21, 2022.
