Kiki Palmer Is to get treatment along with Zendaya On Twitter after her starring role in Jordan BellNew movie – sparked a conversation about coloring in Hollywood.
Here’s the deal… Kiki hit big this weekend in the opposite ‘No’ Daniel Kaluuya, with some believing that this is the moment of its outbreak in the mainstream. Yes, I’ve worked on TONS of movies/shows for years – but before that, it wasn’t really a household name, generally…before.
Keke Palmer deserves the same publicity you’d give Zendaya https://t.co/OAeWpXNqN9

This is where Zendaya comes into the chat (figuratively)…someone on the bird app said Keke deserves the same hype and flattery that Zendaya usually enjoys these days. And from there… people started talking about why one went up before the other.
Before we write this down as putting two women of color facing each other, let’s just enjoy the topic and substance of the controversy…because, frankly, it’s such an interesting thing.
I would like someone to delve deeper into the similarities and differences between Keke Palmer and Zendaya’s professions. This may be one of the clearest examples of how color appears in Hollywood. They were both young stars, but their mainstream popularity is completely different. https://t.co/Cmy1CXGQeI pic.twitter.com/etO27HVN0Y

Someone has put forth the theory that coloring is the reason Zendaya has seen more mainstream success than Keke at this point in their careers – even though they’re about the same age, they both have a Disney background… and although one of them has a way Representing the most credits from the other (Keke > Zen), Zendaya is the name/face we know best in 2022.
Of course, there’s a backlash to the fact that this is not discussed at all… with Zendaya fans coming to her defense in what they say looks like a personal attack on their idol, but others say they’ve totally missed the point — and that this isn’t about Zendaya, as far same.
Comments and quotes are exactly why coloring in the Hollywood conversation will always be on the surface. People consider color recognition to be a worse and more contentious tool than coloring itself. We’ll never be able to have a real conversation about it and that’s why it’s going to continue. https://t.co/WjHmVMxgTU

You can jump tokiki“or”Zendaya“Trends and see for yourself how this debate is shaping up—but long story short, there seems to be a good majority feeling that Zendaya, through no fault of her own, has benefited greatly from her mixed-racial heritage.
We should note… Zendaya herself has admit it on me Multiple occasionsby saying that she wants to help her community, the black community, reach the same level in the entertainment world.
There are no easy answers here – we are sure this debate will continue. As for Kiki, we’ll say this… She’s been killing it since forever, but “no” is really something else. Star industry roles appear quite often, and this is definitely one of them. 🛸
We’re sure we’ll be seeing a lot of Kiki very soon.
